We opened our doors in January of 2014 with the aim to deliver authentic Montessori education to children in a nurturing environment; fostering an enquiring mind and a love of learning that will stay with each child throughout his or her life.
The school takes children from the age of 2 to 6. At age 2 they join the Infant Community and around age 3 as each child’s independence and interest grows, a gradual transition to the Children’s House is facilitated.
We offer a happy and secure place for our children. We treat each child as an individual, allowing them to develop at their own pace in a environment enriched with resources to enhance their lives.
The layout of our classroom encourages exploration, communication and the development of relationships on all levels. Everything in our environment reflects a dedication to quality, beauty and to the children’s abilities to do things for themselves.
Our classrooms are designed to help children feel happy, secure and at home, where they know where everything is and don’t always have to rely on the adults. The classroom is totally a place for the children where everything is easily accessible.
At Grace Montessori School we have a a large, safely-enclosed mature garden for outdoor play and learning.
The adults’ role is vital in providing a gentle, nurturing environment and acting as the guides for the children. The role of the adult is to prepare and organise the learning materials to meet the individual needs and interest of the children.
At Grace Montessori our focus is on the children’s learning, we create an environment and atmosphere of learning and inquisitiveness. We work in collaboration with the child, observing new skills as they are acquired and achieved. Each new level of ability achieved becomes a stepping stone for the next.
